Follow Up
The other day Aaron found Jacob out at the campfire with a green tomato he had picked from the garden. He had found a piece of a broken campfire stick, speared the tomato and had it "roasting" over the ashes. I gave it back to him the next day (yesterday) and sure enough he went right back out the the "campfire" to have another go at it.
