Christmas Day

Hello All-
We had a bounteous Christmas Holiday. We are so blessed to have a knowledge of Jesus Christ and the joy of this holiday season.

These photos are before and after the storm. The after pictures include Sophie and Ben amidst the chaos with some of their favorite gifts, a purple bathrobe for Sophie and and Marbleworks game for Ben.

The other photo included is one of Jacob's favorite gifts. He has really been wanting to sit at the table with the family. When I put him at the table with his food on the little tray included with the booster seat, he very carefully picked up his bowl and placed it on the table. I stand corrected and put in my place by a 15 month old!!!

Sophie's First Concert

I have never posted a video before, I hope it works. This is Sophie's first school concert. She was very scared and crying when we got there and she saw all the people, but the music teacher was very wise and had the kids go up front before the concert started to write their name on the wall. I think it really helped Sophie feel more comfortable. It was very cute.

Now here are some photos of us decorating the tree. None of the photos are very good as I chose to take quick pictures and enjoy the family time rather than spend time getting them right. Plus the decorating pictures were taken right before bedtime (actually technically after bedtime,) and the kids were spent.

Christmas Decorating

Saturday we finally got our Christmas Tree. Here are a couple of pictures of the process, it was very cold and we chose very quickly.

Playing Outside

I know my the end of winter there will be a million "kids playing outside in the snow" photos and we will be so sick of the snow that the photos will make us turn away in disgust, but I am contributing anyway.

The other night we all played outside together for a long time. Sophie and I stayed out right up until dinner.

Jacob LOVED it. I thought he would get sick of it because he could hardly move, but I tried to bring him in at one point and he got really mad.

Ben is not in these pictures because it was snowing hard and the wind picked up and an airplane went over all at the same time, and he got scared of a thunderstorm. This is a carry over fear from the summer. This was actually the day before the Nor'easter, but he had also heard us talking about it and when the wind picked he insisted that he had to go inside.

Sophie's Prize

Last Thursday (Dec. 13th) Sophie's kindergarten class had a pajama day for an end of unit activity about the author Mem Fox. They had prizes for each student's pajamas, and you will never guess what prize Sophie got... The Most Feminine Pajamas. Who would have thought it, my daughter, feminine???

Jacob Cooking

I have been meaning to get on here and add these pictures but I haven't done it yet. I think maybe I didn't want to appear overeager with this blog thing.

Last Saturday morning Jacob, Sophie and I were up early and made a special breakfast for Ben and Aaron. Jacob was doing some cooking on his own, and even if I do say so myself, he looks really cute in the mini apron!!!!

Ben

I didn't have the camera with me, so no picture of the event, but today when we brought Sophie to school, Ben licked the metal hand rail. He is the first of my children to do this. Why he chose the morning that it was -6, I don't know. He resolved it very well by himself by just pulling. A little blood and a piece of gum later all is well, and hopefully lesson learned (though I am sure we will have it happen again.)

The Other Day

I had trouble posting this the other day. Ben loves his weaponry, but I think we need to get him a belt of some sort because, well, I guess I will let the pictures tell the story.

Jacob's Recreation

Jacob took an especially long time to fall asleep for his nap today, so when he was finally down I went to check on him. He had a GRAND time tearing a huge swath off of the wallpaper. He then proceeded to fall asleep directly on top of it. I was able to move him off and he is still peacefully sleeping away.

Sophie made dinner last night. She was very serious about her work, and we had excellent Sloppy Joe's. I was able to sneak a little smile out of her though!!

Didn't know we had this

Hi, I discovered this and didn't know that Aaron had created it. I guess we will join the world of blogging
