Bunny Infestation

Many of you may recall the issue with bunnies we had this spring (for those of you who don't, let's just say that it is true about the way they reproduce.)

Anyway, we have five remaining rabbits. We were committed to keep two of them, but were unsuccessful finding homes for the remaining three. Finally we decided to "reintegrate" them with their wild companions.

We convinced the kids that it was a good idea and that the rabbits were not happy in a cage, and wouldn't it be fun to see the hopping happily through a field?! Eventually they agreed (quite reluctantly.)

Here is the photo we took of Patch's release into the wild. He hopped a bit, but the kids went up to him and pet him several times, and at one point he came right up to us, at which point we decided he was tame enough that it would be cruel to let him into the wild.

We tried with one of the females (the females are not very friendly.) But the same thing happened.

Sooooo, we have five rabbits, if you know anyone interested in some tame rabbits, let us know.

Actually, Keith and I have decided that a pet rabbit would be just the thing for us, but that doesnt help you out much!!
