Dryer Lint Bugs

Does anyone know what these bugs are? We call them dryer lint bugs because that is what they look like. They come out on warm fall days. They are often thick enough that we don't play outside because we inhale them and they get stuck in our hair. They are so fragile that if you try to remove them they squish. Every time I ask people when they are at our house they say, "Oh! I thought it was dryer lint!"

WEIRD, i like the pic of the bug in flight. sometimes we see that here too, and we also have to hold ouru breath as we walk throkugh the swarm. Imagine inhaling a swarm of bugs?
