FYI

Just so you all know....

Due to the following conditions:
  • diarrhea with and without blood
  • eczema
  • slow weight gain
  • excessive gas
It is believed that Noah has a milk protein allergy.  This means absolutely no dairy for me.  No milk, no butter, no chocolate, no cheese, no yogurt, no whipped cream, no lactaid (this is for lactose intolerance and still contain milk proteins) no soy, no ice cream...the list goes on.

The slow weight gain is not due to a supply issue but inflammation somewhere in the belly (I can't remember where specifically) that causes him not to be able to absorb nutrients.

If I am vigilant he should be fine and most kids grow out of it by the age of one.

Just thought you might want to know.

oh my goodness, this is too bad!!! So sorry to hear this!
Thankfully you have discovered this so early though and can make changes to help Noah out. Unfortunately it means sacrificing on your part, Lauren- isn't that what motherhood is all about . . .?
Good luck- wishing Noah some comfort and weight gain, and importantly, nutrient absorption. . .
Love you

Soy? Are you just ruling that out in case he has an allergy to that as well? Soy products don't usually have milk protein in them...
Well - if ya need recipes! haha.

I can't remember exactly why the Dr said no soy, something about a 30% crossover or something like that.

sorry that you have to go through this. It will be good to know how you feel without dairy too.
