In the Works

In a strange turn of events Aaron and I are looking into purchasing next door neighbor's house.  We initially looked at it as a rental opportunity, but as we have gone through the house the idea has grown to us actually moving into the house.
The front lawn.  These produce gorgeous red crab apples.
It carries some disadvantages.  It has knob and tube electrical wiring in part of the house.  The windows need to be replaced and the exterior needs to be painted.  There is one toilet in the entire house and one shower, and they are not in the same room.
Everything in this picture would be ours.
However with some renovation it offers about 1000 square feet more than our current home.  It has original post and beams that we can expose, an 150 year old granite foundation that has not moved an inch, a basement that doesn't flood each spring.  Above all, the thing that got this all started in the first place are the 18 acres of land that have a combination of fields, woods, hill, flat, a stream and natural springs.

We have put in an official offer, but there is so much that has to be resolved first.  If it doesn't work out, we will continue on with nothing lost.  If it does work out we are up for a big adventure.

We will keep you posted!!
