May Photos

May in a flash...

May brought many new and wonderful things.  Like new cleats

I read a blog that said that we need to take more pictures of ourselves with our kids because when they are older or we are gone no one will care if you were having a bad hair day or you looked fat in that outfit etc... so I took a bunch of pictures with my kiddos.

                                

Sometimes you get discouraged because I am small and leave my fingerprints on the window and the wall...(I am thinking happy thoughts here)

For some reason I find laundry on the line inspiring.  I think it is the color, it represents work, gratitude for beautiful weather, the bounty that we are blessed with (I mean look at all those clothes!)

Baby ducks which have grown and been slaughtered and some of them eaten.  Verdict: They taste really good but not different enough from other poultry to be worth the mess they make.

Sophie had a dance recital.  She was amazing.  We love Ballet Wolcott. (P.S. I helped make the skirts) We have a DVD of the performance if you want to see it.

I made buttered noodles and when they cooled the butter made these marks on the container.  I know I am weird but I thought it was really cool.

Just about the saddest birthday cake you have ever seen.  I don't know what happened that day but hey we can't be perfect all the time (ok so I am never perfect, but I can pretend!)

April Video Portion

Noah was utterly ridiculous as he walked around with this little cart so kindly loaned to us by Molly .  This is old news but for posterity's sake, Noah began walking at 10 1/2 months.

We had friends over to dye eggs

Melissa reminded me of robin's egg lipstick.  Ahhh the memories!

I had my ingrown toenails fixed and it was a long nasty process and I felt I needed to inflict all of you as well.

We met friends at Pizza Putt for Laser Tag and had so much fun we planned a date night with all the adults.  So much money, so little time, but SO MUCH FUN!!!

Photo Issues

I am at a stand still blog-wise.  It has 100% to do with my photo organization system.  I have never liked the one that came with our computer then it got worse when it started making doubles that I couldn't delete or I would lose the original.  I am trying to get my photos organized in Picasa in a way that I love but the sheer number of photos I have means that it will take me years to get done at my current rate. So anyway here is a post so that you know that I am alive and well.  And a photo because I just can't post without one.

Noah 4/9/11

A Vow

I am vowing to post up to date information but in order to do that I need to get rid of all the old pictures so here goes....

Blogger is being difficult so I will do a couple of posts.


In March we attended Donkey Basketball to benefit one of the classes at Aaron's school.  It is hard to describe so I have included a video, but rest assured that the donkeys are treated kindly.  One of the penelty;s includes having to kiss the donkey on the lips...

The Carpet

In March Aaron and I finally decided to just paint the stairs white.  For  A LONG time they have been painted with a coat of primer while we decided what color to paint them.  The problem is that primer holds dirt and the stairs were so difficult to clean.


So I bought a gallon of heavy duty paint and had one of the kids bring it inside.  They brought it to Aaron show him then put it on the couch.  I saw all this and thought, "I should take care of that right now before an accident happens."  When you think something like that, DO IT!!!!!

Moments later Jacob came to me with the can held over his head and asked, "Mama what is this?" And then proceeded to drop the can of paint onto the wool carpet.

The lid popped off and about 3/4 of a gallon spilled out onto the carpet.

Thanks to quick thinking and a $15 carpet cleaner I am SO glad we got at a yard sale, we were able to recover all but 1/4 gallon and things are as good as new.  Except the stairs which STILL need to be painted.
