Focus

I am losing focus here so I am going to do a kid unload.
Playing in the play gym after dark with REAL fire.  They were "roasting" ears of corn over the flame and playing war or something that required a helmet. (8/26/11)
See?  I told ya!
Our gymnast.  I'll save that for a later post.
"Hunting" in the woods on a family walk 10/1/11
We found an amazing bed of real clay and the kids had fun adding camo.
Second time's a charm
My most successful french braid ever.   10/1/11
Babies and kittens...nothing cuter but together.....10/1/11
By the way this is Sorrel Kit Sophie's kitten, in case you haven't been properly introduced
He still has not gotten over his eating marker tips habit.
TROUBLE!!!! 10/1/11 I must have been picture happy that day.
But he is a baby so he gets away with it...
...and he doesn't even know it.
Sweet Ben.  I want you all to know that he has many other personality traits but sweet stands out.  I am not sure if you can see it, but Aaron's arm is red from a run in with poison ivy.  It was a really bad case and he bore it admirably. 10/4/11
We got some free curlers from a friend so we tried them out.  Mother daughter bonding...sigh
Remember Trouble? 10/4/11
Darn it all he's going to get away with it again!
Our dancer on her way to class and nabbed my camera. 10/8/11

Something I Missed

Noah had his first creemee. I think he did a pretty good job with it.  This poor kid went from absolutely no dairy to downing a creemee almost overnight.  Isn't that weird?

First Day of School

First Day of School pictures are Aaron's favorite!!!  Can't you tell by how he is beaming?

I took a lot pictures of Sophie but she was very resistant to a good photo so I add them all here and she has to live with these photos preserved for posterity.   Good thing she is so cute!

Off he goes!

I love this sweet, sweet boy Ben!

Jasmine is a classmate of Sophie's that began joining us this summer.  She comes at 6:30 and I get her on the bus then she is here Friday's after school and on vacations.  She is our other daughter.  Sophie enjoys having a sister who goes home at the end of the day.

I couldn't help myself.

I am hopeless aren't I?

I think Sophie looks sly here.

I will NOT cooperate!

GOTCHA!!!!!

Mom...

Jacob began preschool this year.  He goes to a waldorf preschool on Monday and Tuesdays from 9:00 to 2:00.  I have really enjoyed the waldorf approach to early childhood education.

He is very excited!

Going in without even a moments hesitation.

Taking his place at the amazing circular table.  I'll have to post better pictures of it someday.

I guess you can see it a little here.

Mr. Charlie and Jacob after a successful first day.

Jacob and Mrs. Nell

I adore this pictures of Jacob and Miss Charlotte.  She is such a sweet happy friend both at the school and at Sophie's dance classes.  We have collaborated on sewing costumes in  the past.

Loose Screws

Sometime the screws in my head come loose.  Late August Jacob had a fascination with shaving cream.  He emptied two cans of it at a friends house.  Then used some of Aaron's here at home.  This of course peaked Ben's curiosity and he got into it.  So I had a stroke of genius (i.e. loose screws).

I thought if I let the kids play with some shaving cream they would get over the "curiosity phase."

While they were playing I came to my senses.  What was I thinking?! This was only going to make them want to play with it even more!

I would like to report however, that they have not touched the shaving cream since, though I am certain that I just jinxed it by stating it here.

Sorry For the Delay

Ok, sorry for the delay.  I did not forget about a Noah update.  Here we go!

This sweet boy loves to bite the tips off of markers.  It makes for some very interesting diaper changes.
But isn't he adorable through it all!
I guess there wasn't much to say about Noah, but he is doing very well.  He has outgrown his food sensitivities and is healthy and strong.

Jacob

I always thought it would be Ben that figured out how to scale across the top of the play gym and get into the pine tree, but no it was Jacob.  Not only did he figure it out, but he had no problem scaling the tree 25 feet up.  We had to put a stop to it.  Now he is only allowed to climb the apple tree.
Remember our fireworks friends?  Here are more photos for their wedding slideshow.

Jacob learned to ride a bike!!!!  Don't worry no Jacob's were seriously harmed in the making of any of these videos.

Ben

I am certain that Ben did more than this in August but you can imagine that he did things similar to this, I just didn't take pictures of all of them.
I can't remember what we got that came with these styrofoam pieces, maybe a new computer?  Anyway Ben drew up blueprints on how to build an airplane using the styrofoam and PVC pipe leftover from Aaron redoing the downstairs bathroom.
Ben was so excited by the finished product.

After this we went to the beach and Ben found that it was more successful as a water plane until the water "unstuck" the tape.
The cup on the right is the cup of lemonade that Ben made for himself.  The gallon pickle jar is how much water I had to add to his cup to make it drinkable.
